The Talladega County Citizen Corps Council is working to rejuvenate the CERT, VOAD, and Student Preparedness programs of Talladega County. We need your help.
The CERT program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Classes will be starting soon so call to save your seat.
VOAD is the forum where organizations and businesses share knowledge and resources throughout the disaster cycle—preparation, response and recovery—to help disaster survivors and their communities. The next VOAD meeting is November 8th at 2:00pm
Student Preparedness helps prepare you to help yourself, your family, and you school in the event of a disaster. During an incident, emergency service personnel may not be able to reach everyone right away. By getting trained in Student Preparedness, you will have the skills to help emergency responders, save lives, and protect property.
Being prepared is your responsibility; with these programs you can better prepare yourself and your community. If you are interested in joining any of these groups please contact LeighAnn Butler with the Talladega County EMA at 256-761-2125.
